A 30th Birthday Celebration

Last week Create Dinners catered and curated their first collaborative event for Molly Thompsons 30th Birthday Celebration up here at Noon Lodge. Molly is co-founder of the Kind Campaign and for her birthday her all-star husband arranged for her closest friends to stay for the weekend and then surprised her on the last night with a beautiful dinner. It is clear this girl is loved and we feel so honored that they chose us as the location to celebrate her!

Lots and lots of photos below because it looked like such a magical evening. And be sure to check out Create Dinners website for even more photos.

805 Living Magazine Feature

805 Living Magazine did a small feature on us in their travel section and we were stoked to get the mention.

805 Living is a monthly magazine targeting the communities in the 805 zip-code area and surrounding cities. The magazine acts as a go-to-guide for living the good life in the 805 area and offers information on lifestyle, home design, travel, style, entertainment, health, dining and more.

Big Bear Lake ranked as Americas 2nd best Lake Town.

Country Living Magazine recently published an article where they rounded up the best Small Lake Towns in America. And Big Bear Lake, CA, home to yours truly, came in at 2nd place!

Here is what they had to say about Big Bear. And notice the shout out to Noon Lodge in the article.

"Mountain junkies will love this Southern California jewel that's sure to get your adrenaline spiking. First, crank up the sweat mountain biking on trails of all levels. Then, cool off on the new Tarzan Boat, a one-of-a-kind party boat with a Tarzan swing, 12-foot high trampoline, and14-foot high "Gorilla Jump" dive. Trust us when we say Noon Lodge is the place to catch your ZZZs and test your luck at bocce ball and corn hole (the rustic cabins will conjure up your greatest camp memories). When your stomach starts growling, head to The Big Bear Local for funky California-Hawaiian grub, The Black Kat for upscale dining, or the beloved staple that is the Old German Deli."

Writing & Recording at Noon Lodge

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting musicians Danny Schnair and Steven Colyer who came up to Big Bear seeking some peace and quiet and some inspiration as they were writing and recording some new music.

We got to tag along with them for a bit and in addition to their good tunes they are some overall cool dudes.

Thanks for coming guys, come back anytime and we're excited to hear the new album!

Stylish Angelenos Guide to Big Bear

Ashley Tibbits, the adorable gal behind Clever recently drove up to Big Bear and put together an amazing little guide we thought we would share with you. To read her full post and get even more tips and ideas visit her website CLEVER.

On the drive up they recommend a stop in Lake Arrowhead to visit our friends at Road Trip.

"Nestled amid the cutest little Alpine-style residences you ever did see is Road Trip, an expertly curated gift and framing shop that's a stylish Angeleno's dream. They'll recognize LA brands like Chaparral Studio and P.F. Candle Co. but the style o…

"Nestled amid the cutest little Alpine-style residences you ever did see is Road Trip, an expertly curated gift and framing shop that's a stylish Angeleno's dream. They'll recognize LA brands like Chaparral Studio and P.F. Candle Co. but the style of this place—hearty stoneware mugs and woodsy-scented incense mixed in with vintage finds you'd expect to see inside a cabin in a Wes Anderson movie—is just mountain-y enough to be different than anything you could find in the city."

And when in Lake Arrowhead a stop at the Pendleton Outlet is a must.

To snooze in style they recommend yours truly...

Here's what they had to say about Noon Lodge...

"When it comes to finding a place to lay your head for the night, Noon Lodge provides the stylish setting LA's cool crowd is craving. As a fashionable Angeleno herself, designer Lex Brooks knew what visitors wanted: kilim pillows, animal hyde rugs, inviting fireplaces, and other touches with that quintessentially mountain aesthetic, but decorated in an updated way. "We really just wanted to bring something new to the town but still honor the small town mountain feel," Brooks explains, "and we were inspired by our memories of the boy and girl scouts and the feeling of being away at a summer camp. We tried to bring in lots of those old school elements; you will find old lanterns, canteens, canoe paddles etc. throughout our cabins, all while still feeling clean and modern. We wanted to mix the feel of old and new."

And what is a great road trip without some good eats.

They even got to try one of the newest additions to town, Local.

"Poke bowls and macademia nut milk lattes might not be what you'd expect to find while vacationing in the mountains, but that's exactly what you're going to find at Local, a reggae-blasting, acai bowl-serving little shack in Big Bear. LA's coffee snobs will also approve of the Groundworks brew served here, which you can sip spiked with coconut in their "Island Style" latte."

Such a fun little guide for a quick weekend trip. Be sure to check out the full post at Clever for even more great tips!

David Rush Travel Show

The David Rush Travel Show recently made a stop through Big Bear and stayed with us at the Lodge. They have been on the road for the past 7 years traveling all over the 50 states and abroad.

While with us they put together this fun little video clip  highlighting all our different amenities. If you have stayed with us before then you will recognize Fritz, our on site manager, who does such a wonderful job taking care of Noon Lodge and all our guests that come through.

Grant Legan's Visit

Grant Legan is an editorial photographer and traveler. He say's that he is always sourcing new experiences to inspire his work and we were happy to host him at Noon Lodge this past Fall. We hope he was able to pull some inspiration from all the Fall colors and peacefulness of mountain life when Autumn hits.

Below are some fun shots he sent over, its fun to look back on these as we are currently covered in snow. Thats one of the best parts of Big Bear, getting to experience all four seasons.

Bradley Mountain Lookbook

If you have never heard of Bradley Mountain do yourself a favor and look them up now. All of their good are handmade here in the US with the best craftsmanship making each one unique and durable enough to even outlast you and all your adventures.

They shot their latest look book her at the Lodge and happened to be here when one of the biggest storms of the year rolled through. The photos they got are some of our very favorites ever captured of Noon Lodge.

If you are planning a trip up to Noon Lodge some of their items are a must, whether you need an overnight bag or a pack of playing cards they've got you covered.

Sakura Bloom's Kid-Friendly Feature

It was such an honor to be featured on the Sakura Bloom website as their pick for one of the best kid-friendly getaways in LA! Be sure to check out their website for the full feature but here is just a peak at what they had to say:

"Noon Lodge was recently renovated in 2015 with modern finishes, prior it was a 1950s mountain retreat. You can tell with the retro yet modern influence throughout. In the summer the pool is a huge plus. Bocce ball courts and outdoor fireplace (with provided firewood!) is a nice way to get outside and meet other families. Long story short, Noon lodge makes for a perfect getaway whether you're a couple looking for a weekend peace and quiet or a family of five hoping for even 10 minutes of some!"
